We have relatives coming from Germany this weekend so the next couple days are my last gasp at studio time for the rest of the month. Three or four other long distance trips are scheduled immediately after the relatives leave. Actually it is a pretty grueling schedule. Don’t want to think about it yet.
Right now there is one piece in the studio I have been struggling with for the last week or so. This damned thing will get under control today once and for all. The real problem is that I finished a painting last week (after 5 weeks of redos) and it has pushed me in a new direction and set a new standard. What comes next needs to be on that level. Not as easy as it might seem. Also there are three or four smaller pieces to finish off and then clean up the chaos a little. Nina and I have not been the best housekeepers. I took the liberty of booking some professional cleaners on Friday before the relatives arrive and Tricia comes home. Literally the cleaning folks will finish up minutes before Tricia walks through the door, but the house will sparkle and not smell like dawg, beer, old laundry, and carnitas. Hopefully, I will be a hero although a little poorer for the effort.
